The ZIFA Village this week marked the successful conclusion of the ZIFA Administrators Course, bringing to a close an intensive and impactful programme designed to strengthen football management across Zimbabwe.
Facilitated by Archford Mamelodi, the course gathered administrators from across the country, representing provinces, regions and institutions at both grassroots and elite levels. From clubs and academies to schools and leagues, participants engaged in a week-long learning experience aimed at enhancing professionalism, governance and operational efficiency within the game.
Throughout the course, sessions were structured to encourage practical learning, with a strong emphasis on interactive discussions, case studies and both individual and group assignments. This approach ensured that participants were not only exposed to key administrative principles but were also equipped to apply them within their respective environments.

A key highlight of the week was the involvement of Kennedy Ndebele, who was present during the programme and actively contributed his wealth of administrative experience. His engagement provided valuable insight into the realities of football leadership and the standards required to drive the game forward at national level.
Reflecting on the course, Mamelodi expressed satisfaction with the level of participation and commitment shown by attendees.
“The response from participants has been excellent,” he said. “We have seen a genuine desire to learn, to improve and to take responsibility for the growth of football within their areas. Administration is the backbone of the game, and this course has been about building individuals who can lead with competence, integrity and vision.”

Ndebele also underscored the importance of continuous education within football structures, noting that strong administration is essential to sustained success.
“As ZIFA, we are committed to raising standards across the board,” he said. “Courses like this are critical because they ensure that football is managed professionally at every level. When administrators are empowered with the right knowledge and skills, it creates a solid foundation for players, coaches and competitions to thrive.”
The final day of the course was graced by the ZIFA Acting General Secretary, Norman Gwangwadza, who commended participants for their dedication and encouraged them to carry forward the lessons learned.

“This is an important step in building a stronger football ecosystem in Zimbabwe,” said Gwangwadza. “We need capable administrators not just at the top, but throughout the entire football pyramid. The knowledge you have gained here must translate into better structures, better planning and ultimately a better game for everyone.”
The conclusion of the course represents another milestone in ZIFA’s broader efforts to professionalise football administration and invest in capacity building. By equipping administrators with the tools and understanding needed to run the game effectively, the association continues to lay the groundwork for a more organised, transparent and sustainable football future.
As participants return to their respective roles across the country, the expectation is clear: to apply their knowledge, uplift standards and contribute meaningfully to the continued growth of Zimbabwean football.
