The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) Ordinary Congress 2026 is currently underway in Harare, bringing together delegates from across the country for one of the most important gatherings on the domestic football calendar.

The annual Congress serves as the supreme decision-making platform of the Association, providing an opportunity for members to reflect on the past year, assess progress, and collectively shape the future direction of Zimbabwean football. This year’s meeting comes at a time when the game continues to undergo significant transformation, with a strong emphasis on governance, development, and commercial growth.

In his address to delegates, ZIFA President Nqobile Magwizi set the tone for the Congress, calling for unity and a shared commitment to advancing the game.

“Today is not just about reflecting on where we have come from, but about aligning ourselves on where we are going. The responsibility to rebuild and grow Zimbabwean football rests with all of us, and together, we must deliver a game that our nation can be proud of,” said Magwizi.

A key highlight of the Congress is the presentation of the 2025 ZIFA Activity Report, which provides a comprehensive account of the Association’s work over the past year. The report outlines major milestones across governance, competitions, development programmes, and commercial initiatives, reflecting a period of renewed structure and momentum within the organisation.

Delegates will also receive the audited financial statements for the 2025 financial year, reinforcing ZIFA’s commitment to transparency and accountability. In addition, the proposed budget for the upcoming year will be tabled for discussion and approval, setting the financial framework to support the Association’s strategic priorities going forward.

The Congress is expected to further deliberate on key issues affecting the game, with contributions from stakeholders across all levels of Zimbabwean football. As discussions unfold, the focus remains firmly on building a sustainable, inclusive, and competitive football ecosystem.

The 2026 Ordinary Congress stands as another important step in ZIFA’s journey from stabilisation to delivery, as the Association continues to strengthen its foundations and drive the game forward for the benefit of all Zimbabweans.
