ZIFA President Magwizi Encourages Coaches as CAF B Course Gains Momentum
The Zimbabwe Football Association’s commitment to strengthening coach education and building a stronger technical foundation for the national game continues to take shape, with the CAF B Coaching Course currently underway at ZIFA Village in Harare.
The fully subscribed course, facilitated by ZIFA Technical Director Dominique Niyonzima, has brought together aspiring and developing coaches from across the football landscape. Significantly, the programme has also featured strong participation from women, underlining ZIFA’s drive to create more inclusive pathways in technical development and football leadership.
ZIFA President Nqobile Magwizi today visited the participants, taking time to address them and share insights on the Association’s broader vision for football development. His visit provided an important moment of encouragement for the coaches, many of whom are seeking to deepen their knowledge, sharpen their technical skills, and position themselves to make a stronger impact at club, academy, school, provincial and national level.

Speaking to the participants, Magwizi emphasised that coach education remains central to ZIFA’s long-term development agenda.
“Football development begins with knowledge, discipline and a clear commitment to continuous learning,” said Magwizi. “As coaches, you carry a huge responsibility because you are not only shaping players, but also influencing the culture, standards and future direction of our game. ZIFA is committed to creating more opportunities for coaches to learn, grow and contribute meaningfully to football development in Zimbabwe.”
The ZIFA President also commended the strong presence of women on the course, describing it as an encouraging sign of progress in the Association’s efforts to broaden participation across all areas of the game.
“It is pleasing to see women taking up space in coach education,” he added. “This is the kind of progress we want to see across Zimbabwean football. The game must provide fair opportunities for everyone with the passion, capacity and commitment to serve.”

Technical Director Dominique Niyonzima said the CAF B Course is an important step in improving the quality of coaching across the country. He noted that ZIFA’s coach education programme is designed to ensure that local coaches are exposed to modern football principles, practical methodology and the demands of the evolving game.
“This course is about raising standards,” said Niyonzima. “We want coaches who understand the game technically, tactically and practically. The CAF B Licence is an important stage in that journey, and the commitment shown by the participants has been very encouraging.”
The course forms part of ZIFA’s wider technical development framework, which seeks to create a structured coaching pathway and improve the quality of football delivery at every level.
With the CAF B Course now in full swing, ZIFA continues to underline the importance of education, capacity building and inclusivity as key pillars in the growth of Zimbabwean football.
