Harare, 6 October 2025 – The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) Electoral Committee wishes to inform all football stakeholders and the general public that preparations for the 2025 ZIFA Members’ Elections are officially underway.

The elections will be conducted in full compliance with the ZIFA Statutes (adopted October 2024) and the FIFA directive mandating democratic governance across all football structures. Guided by Article 12 (1) of the ZIFA Statutes, the electoral process will cover executive committees for:

  • Men’s Regional Division One Leagues
  • Women’s Regional Division One Leagues
  • Men’s Provincial Leagues
  • Beach Soccer Football Association
  • Futsal Football Association
  • Area Zones

This process underscores ZIFA’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and inclusivity in football administration, ensuring that all members are fairly represented within the association’s structures.

Election Roadmap and Key Dates

The election process begins on 6 October 2025 with the opening of nominations for all eligible structures, including Area Zones, Beach Soccer, Futsal, Provincial, Women’s Regional, and Men’s Regional Leagues. Nominations will close on 21 October 2025 in line with the ZIFA Electoral Code. Candidates will be notified of the outcomes of the vetting process on 29 October 2025, followed by a deadline of 6 November 2025 for the submission of any missing documentation. The Electoral Committee will communicate decisions of the first instance to candidates by 7 November 2025, after which an appeal period will run from 8 to 16 November 2025. The final list of candidates, following the resolution of appeals, will be published on 22 November 2025. The elections themselves will take place between 6 and 15 December 2025, phased over two weekends across the different regions.

The ZIFA Electoral Committee assures all stakeholders that the elections will be conducted fairly, transparently, and in full accordance with FIFA and ZIFA electoral principles. All participants are encouraged to engage constructively and adhere to the official roadmap as part of the broader process of rebuilding governance across Zimbabwean football.
