On Friday, 19 September 2025, the President of the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA), Mr Nqobile Magwizi, returned to his roots in Gokwe as Guest of Honour at the Njelele High School Prize Giving Day.
In an uplifting keynote address, Mr Magwizi encouraged learners to embrace what he termed “the 4Ds of life” – Discipline, Determination, Dedication, and Devotion. These, he explained, are the guiding values that have shaped his own journey from Gokwe to the helm of Zimbabwean football leadership. “When you live by these values, there is no limit to what you can achieve. They will carry you through challenges and open doors to your future,” he told the students.
Accompanied by ZIFA General Secretary Ms Yvonne Manwa, the President presented a donation of full soccer kits for both boys and girls. The gesture was warmly received by the school community, symbolising hope, opportunity, and the Association’s ongoing commitment to grassroots development. “This donation is not just about football,” said Ms Manwa. “It is about giving young people a platform to discover their potential, to stay disciplined, and to believe in a brighter tomorrow.”

The visit underscored ZIFA’s broader mission of using football as a tool for empowerment and positive transformation. Beyond the trophies and results, the sport instils values of teamwork, resilience, and respect – qualities that nurture not just better players, but better citizens.
For the learners of Njelele High, the day was more than a celebration of academic and sporting achievement. It was a reminder that, with discipline and devotion, even the most ambitious dreams can be realised. Football, as ZIFA continues to show, is not only a beautiful game, but also a pathway to character, opportunity, and lifelong success.
