The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has taken a significant step towards strengthening its operational capacity and improving support for national teams after officially taking delivery of two brand-new 66-seater coaches.

The handover ceremony, held on Friday, was attended by ZIFA Vice President Loveness Mukura and Executive Committee Member and Marketing Committee Chairperson Kudzai Kadzombe, marking another milestone in the Association’s ongoing efforts to professionalise football administration and enhance the welfare of players and officials.

The acquisition of the two coaches is expected to greatly improve transportation logistics for national teams, development programmes, technical departments and football activities across the country.

Speaking during the handover, Mukura described the delivery of the coaches as a strategic investment that will benefit Zimbabwean football at all levels.

“Today is an important day for Zimbabwean football. These coaches are more than just vehicles; they are an investment in our players, our teams and the future of the game. Reliable transport is a critical component of football operations, and this acquisition will help us better support our national teams and development programmes throughout the country,” said Mukura.

She added that the purchase reflects ZIFA’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for football to thrive.

“Our vision is to build a strong and sustainable football ecosystem. Investments such as these ensure that our teams can travel comfortably and professionally while allowing the Association to execute its programmes more efficiently.”

Kadzombe hailed the development as a tangible demonstration of progress within the Association.

“This is a proud moment for ZIFA and for everyone who cares about the growth of football in Zimbabwe. These coaches are a visible symbol of the work being done to strengthen the game and improve the standards of our operations,” he said.

“As we continue to build partnerships and invest in football development, it is important that we also invest in the infrastructure that supports our players, coaches and administrators. These coaches will serve football communities across the country and contribute significantly to the delivery of our programmes.”

The addition of the two 66-seater coaches comes at a time when ZIFA is implementing a number of strategic initiatives aimed at growing participation, improving player development pathways and enhancing the administration of the game.

With the new vehicles now officially handed over, the Association is better positioned to support national team engagements, grassroots development programmes and competitions across all levels of Zimbabwean football.
