ZIFA Vice President Loveness Mukura on Saturday joined the Zimbabwe Women’s Premier Soccer League (ZWPSL) board, led by Chairperson Chido Chizondo and Vice Chairperson Lewis Muzhara, at the official 2025 champions trophy presentation where Herentals Queens were crowned league winners. The event marked the culmination of a highly competitive season that showcased the remarkable talent and resilience across women’s football in Zimbabwe.
Herentals Queens secured the 2025 championship title after an impressive campaign defined by consistency, tactical maturity and a strong team culture. Their achievement was celebrated not only by their supporters and the ZWPSL leadership, but also by ZIFA, which continues to champion the growth and professionalisation of the women’s game.

Speaking at the ceremony, ZIFA Vice President Loveness Mukura applauded the champions and reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to uplifting women’s football. “Herentals Queens have demonstrated exceptional quality throughout the season, and today’s crowning is well-deserved. As ZIFA, we are proud of the progress being made within the women’s game. Women’s football is central to our development vision, and we will continue to invest, support and create opportunities that allow our players, coaches and clubs to flourish,” she said.
Mukura also praised the ZWPSL leadership for its dedication to strengthening the league. “The league continues to grow in competitiveness and professionalism, and this is a credit to the hard work of the board and all clubs involved. Working together, we are building a stronger and more inclusive football environment that inspires young girls across the country.”

ZWPSL Chairperson Chido Chizondo echoed these sentiments, commending Herentals Queens for their outstanding campaign. “This season has been one of the most exciting we have seen in recent years. Herentals Queens worked incredibly hard, and their success is a reflection of their commitment on and off the pitch. As the ZWPSL, we are proud of how the league continues to evolve, and we are grateful for the support and collaboration we receive from ZIFA as we strive to elevate women’s football to even greater heights,” she said.

Chizondo further highlighted the importance of continued investment in the women’s game. “We are seeing more talent, more competitiveness, and more ambition from our players and clubs. With the right structures and sustained support, the sky is truly the limit for women’s football in Zimbabwe.”
The ceremony not only celebrated Herentals Queens but also reinforced the collective vision shared by ZIFA and the ZWPSL: to grow the women’s game, empower athletes, and build a football landscape that leaves no one behind.
